The Value of Pi upto 32 Decimals from the Vedas

   value-pi
Hey guys. I'll be talking about a very moving article about Hinduism. This will talk about the information that our Hindu religion holds and how it was important for further concepts that are vital in the evolution of the field of science. I have done very minor work on the fourth translation of my mom's Mahaperiyava Satsangam, but I will work more on it and keep you guys updated. Also, this week my mom will be conducting the Mahaperiyava Satsangam, so stay tuned on how you could watch it live here. This article will have some Sanskrit, so sorry if you can't read Sanskrit. This article is going to be very concise and pretty short. Tune in for more content like this. With that said, I'll be happy to introduce the article, "The Value of Pi upto 32 Decimals from the Vedas."

People who are Hindus believe that Hindus achieved scientific feats centuries before actual scientists theorized those feats. By excavating through the tough soils of Earth, we have found many Hindu artifacts that help reveal scientific ideas or innovations. Anyone who is hearing these words from a Hindu will obviously have a first reaction that it is an exaggeration. But, when having Hindu artifacts besides us, nobody can prove us wrong. Also, a very wise person can only extract the true meaning of our historical Hindu texts and scriptures. We should also keep in mind that any Sloka in the ancient Hindu manuscripts has more than one meaning.
Recent studies show that a Sloka in the tenth book of Rig Veda appears to be written to praise Lord Indra and that the technical translation of that Sloka gives the value of Pi up to 28 digits accurately. It is not until the invention of the computer that the Western mathematicians could even get as close as getting 16 digits accurately. Thus, without any modern technology, people from our Hindu religion have accurately found 28 digits accurately. Incredible indeed!
Here is the Vedic numerical code in the Vedas. In Sanskrit, the following Vedic numerical code was used in many Slokas:
कादि नव
टादि नव
पादि पञ्चक
यद्यश्टक
क्ष शुन्यम्

This is the pronunciation in English:
“Kaadi nava
Taadi nava
Paadi panchaka
Yadyashtaka
Kshah sunyam”

Here is the meaning of the Vedic numerical code. Kaadi Nava starting from ka is the sequence of 9 letters representing 1,2,..9. Similarly, Taadi Nava, starting from ta; Paadi Panchaka (1-5), starting from pa; Yadyashtaka (1-8), starting from ya; and Ksha represents 0. In detail it is as follows:
ka (क) – 1, kha (ख) – 2, ga (ग) – 3, gha (घ) – 4,gna (ङ) – 5, cha (च) – 6, cha (छ) – 7, ja (ज) – 8, jha (झ) – 9
ta (ट) – 1, tha (ठ) – 2, da (ड) – 3, dha (ढ) – 4,~na (ण) – 5, Ta (त) – 6, Tha (थ) – 7, Da (द) – 8, Dha (ध) – 9
pa (प) – 1, pha (फ) – 2, ba (ब) – 3, bha (भ) – 4,ma (म) – 5
ya (य) – 1, ra (र) – 2, la (ल) – 3, va (व) – 4, Sa (श) – 5, sha (ष) – 6, sa (स) – 7, ha (ह) – 8
kshah (क्ष) – 0.

Based on this code, there are many Slokas relating to mathematics., e.g., the following is a sloka for Pi value:
गोपीभाग्य मधुव्रातः श्रुंगशोदधि संधिगः |
खलजीवितखाताव गलहाला रसंधरः ||

This is the pronunciation in English:
Gopeebhaagya Madhuvraathah Shrugashodhadhi Samdhigah
 Khalajeevithakhaathaava Galahaalaa Rasamdharah

This is the translation, based on it's code. This code is based off of the main Sanskrit letters in the Sloka:
ga-3, pa-1, bha-4, ya -1, ma-5, Dhu-9, ra-2, tha-6, shru-5, ga-3, sho-5, dha-8, Dhi -9, sa-7, Dha- 9, ga-3, kha-2, la-3, jee-8, vi-4, tha-6, kha-2, tha-6, va-4, ga-3, la-3, ha-8, la-3, ra-2, sa-7, Dha-9, ra-2

This is the actual value of Pi:
3.1415926535897932384626433832792…

The researchers actually have found out that this very Sloka has three meanings. The first meaning of this Sloka is in favor of Lord Shiva. The second meaning of this Sloka is in favor of Lord Krishna. The third meaning of this Sloka is the value of Pi up to 32 decimals.
There were many inventions in the field of science and technology in ancient India, we just have to sift through the sands of time to find them. I really liked this article because it was very interesting and educational. It's very interesting to see and wonder how sages back then have calculated the value of Pi and expressed it in a form of a Sloka. I also liked how it was like a puzzle to be solved. It's very comparable to hieroglyphics from Egypt. It also educates us a little bit about mathematical concepts. Pi is actually the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. All in all, it was a very interesting discovery that the Hindus have kept and it disclosed valuable information in the field of science and technology.
